In our kids classes, our kids line up and do push ups together to warm up for class. What might surprise you, however, is that the kids aren't counting in English; they're counting in Portuguese. You'll find that, in all aspects of our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes, kids and adults respectively learn a number of Brazilian Portuguese words and phrases that are associated with the practice of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Quite a few of these words hold a significance or purpose in class.
If you've heard words like oss, parou, and combate out in class and didn't know what they meant, then we have the perfect cheat sheet to help bring you up to speed.
